The Ordre de la Pléïade is given to 21 Quebec personalities

QUEBEC CITY - The president of the National Assembly, Yvon Vallières, presented to 21 Quebec personalities from different walks of life the Ordre de la Pléïade.
The ceremony took place Wednesday night in Quebec City. The Pléïade is an order of the Francophonie, established in 1976, which is intended to recognize the merit of personalities who have distinguished themselves in serving the ideals of of the Francophonie.
Among this year’s recipients are journalist Stéphan Bureau, the ornithologist André Dion, the singer-composer-actor Jean-Pierre Ferland, sports journalist Richard Garneau and former Prime Minister Daniel Johnson.
The painter Tex Lector, the singer-songwriter Lynda Lemay, athlete Chantal Petitclerc and the Rector of the University of Montréal, Luc Vinet were also honored.
